Last summer saw the end of an era when the space shuttle program launched its final missiomn to the international space station. The Shuttle program began during fifties and sixties during the cold war arms race between the Soviet Union and the United States. In the year 1969 Apollo 11 astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the moon. Since then there have numorous successful and not so successful missions to space. the infamous of these failures was challenger. The craft exploded midflight and killed all the crew on it.
The shuttle program was a show case of what the United States has been able to acomplish with hard work and cooperation. because of this program we have built the space station and sent people to live there.Thanks to the shuttle program we know more and more about our solar system and the rest universe then ever before. Now I know what your thinking that its the end of NASA but it is only the beginning of much bigger,grander, and better things.
